Norwalk quarterback James Hatlevig fired three touchdown passes to Eli Robbins and a fourth to Tim Koerselman on Friday night as the Warrior football team routed Dallas Center-Grimes 38-0 at Mineart Field.

Norwalk finished the first half with consecutive touchdown drives of 86, 36, 57 and 52 yards. They outscored the Mustangs 28-0 in the second quarter, including a pair of TDs in the final 1:17 of the half. Hatlevig showed accuracy on short, intermediate and deep throws throughout the game, connecting with Robbins on scoring completions of 30, 41 and 28 yards.

Unofficially, the junior quarterback completed 12-of-14 first-half passes for 200 yards and finished with 240. Robbins had six catches for 145 yards while Luke Brewer and Brady Schmitz combined for eight receptions and 81 yards. Senior running back Dominic Tigner also had a big game, carrying the ball 21 times for 114 yards and one TD. Tavin Ferner capped the scoring with a 46-yard field goal.

DC-G’s best drive of the night was their first. The Mustangs took the opening kickoff and moved the football effectively downfield and into the red zone. Norwalk stopped them on downs at the 16 and dominated the rest of the game. The Warrior defense has not allowed a point in seven straight quarters going back to last week’s opening stanza at Winterset.

Norwalk is now 3-3 overall and 2-0 in Class 4A, District 6. DC-G dropped to 1-5 and 1-1, respectively. The Warriors travel to Council Bluffs next Friday to face the 1-5 Thomas Jefferson Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m.
