team-11

It was all Nevada, all the time at Randy Wilson Track in Knoxville as the Panthers could never get anything going in a 49-0 loss to the Cubs heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The Panthers routinely gave Nevada short fields in the 1st half that allowed the Cubs to build a 35-0 lead at the halftime break. Panthers Coach Matt Dunkin told KNIA/KRLS Sports it was frustrating to see his team be forced to defend a short field for much of the game.

Dunkin: “We just couldn’t get anything going. Hats off to Nevada and their defense. We were always on the losing end of the field position battle so that didn’t help matters either.”

The Panthers were held to just 88 yards of total offense and four yards on the ground as Quarterback Brenden Woolsey was sacked six times. Koby Higginbotham had 42 yards on two receptions, he also led in rushing with 34 yards on four carries. Nevada rolled up 385 yards of total offense. Knoxville is now 3-3 on the season and 0-2 in district play. Knoxville will travel to the other Panthers in District six to Creston.
