The PCM football team easily defeated Vinton-Shellsburg at home Friday night 52-8

The Mustangs went up 28-0 on the Vikings quick by scoring four touchdowns on five plays in the first quarter. After a Dominic Witt field goal the Mustangs were up 31-0 at the end of the first quarter. PCM continued the dominance in the second quarter and went into halftime up 52-0. The Mustangs put in all of their reserves in the second half for some second and third string guys to get some playing time. Adrien Robbins and Gavin Van Gorp once again had huge nights on offense for PCM and the defense held strong like they’ve done all season. Coach Greg Bonnett says despite still being undefeated, his team needs to remain focused as they take on a familiar foe in West Marshall next week.

“Focus is the only emotion that we want to feel. We kind of joke about that because people don’t consider focus an emotion, but that’s our thing. That’s really the only thing we need on our side. Is to go out there and take reps and we’re preparing to make sure we’re 100% focused. We’ve been waiting for this game for a long time, the West Marshall game, and our guys are pretty dialed in on it.”

The Mustangs improve to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in district play. PCM will travel to State Center to take on West Marshall next Friday.
