The Class 2A #9 Pella Christian volleyball team picked up wins number 19 and 20 on the season Saturday, going 2-1 at the Faith Quad hosted by Grand View Christian at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny.

Pella Christian opened up their action Saturday in a battle of ranked Eagles squads, but came out on the wrong end of a 25-16, 25-19 decision against Class 1A #1 Ankeny Christian Academy. Despite dropping their first match, PC bounced back to sweep Grand View Christian and Waterloo Christian to finish the day with a winning record. The Eagles first beat the host Thunder 25-21, 25-13; then beat the Regents 25-13, 25-17 to cap off the day. Chloe Huisman posted 55 assists through Pella Christian’s three matches on the day, with four Eagles recording double digit kills. Brynn Roozeboom led the offensive attack with 16 kills Saturday, while Addison Bandstra had 15 and Addie Van Arendonk and Rachel Kacmarynski each had 11. Rachel added seven blocks on the day, while older sister Faith Kacmarynski posted a team-high 23 digs. Huisman added 11 digs and six aces to her 55 assists on the day, and Van Arendonk contributed 16 digs and five aces in addition to her 11 kills.

Pella Christian improved to 20-8 overall on the season, and will get eight days off before returning to the court on Monday, October 14th at Dallas Center-Grimes.
