Eighteen other bands competed at the 15th Annual Marching Dutch Invitational Saturday. Local schools PCM placed 4th in Class 2A and Newton placed 7th in Class 4A in two separate sessions held at Pella Christian High School. The event was moved to Eagle Lane for 2024 only as stadium construction is ongoing at Pella High School. The Marching Dutch closed the evening in exhibition. Pella will return to competition this coming Saturday at the Valleyfest Showdown in West Des Moines at 10:15 p.m. after scoring the most points of any school at the 2023 event. Knoxville, Newton, Indianola, and Norwalk will all compete during the day event this coming Saturday.
