The Central College women’s golf team came away with a second-place finish at the American Rivers Conference Championships on Monday, while the Simpson College women’s golf team closed in seventh.

Tournament favorite Dubuque held off the Dutch for the crown, shooting 324-331-315–970 in the 54-hole tourney. Central shot 335-324-318–977, while Simpson shot a 350-344-349–1043.

Central freshman Allie Pfantz was named the conference Rookie of the Year after placing second in the individual standings with an 83-74-77–234 at the par-71 Ames Golf and Country Club course. Pfantz also earned all-conference honors and Lydia Grond did so for the third year in a row, finishing sixth at 81-81-79–241. Parker Stout moved up three spots to tie for 16th place at 84-86-81–251, Mickey Martens was 22md at 87-88-81–256 and Amber Timmer was 24th at 87-83-88–258.

Maddy Streicher led the way for the Storm at the conference tournament, posting an 87-82-84–253 to finish in 19th. Addison Brink was 26th with a 86-91-85–262 and Kaylin Long finished in 29th with a 87-89-90–266. Kristen Roe and Tessa Rounds completed the lineup for Simpson in a tie for 32nd, with Roe shooting a 92-85-91–268 and Rounds posting a 90-88-90–268.

The tournament concludes the fall season for both Central and Simpson.
