Central alumnus and partner with LS2 Group in Des Moines Jeff Boeyink has made a second donation of $15,000 to help support Central students gaining real-world experience through internships.

This is Boeyink’s second $15,000 gift to Central for a total of $30,000 to ensure students get a well-rounded education. The Career Development and Civic Engagement office will manage the funds to support students during internships with supplemental living stipends during unpaid internships. Boeyink has served as the executive director for the Republican Party of Iowa and chief of staff for Governor Terry Branstad. He is now a lobbyist with LS2 Group, serving multiple clients.

Alumni recognize that internships allow students to earn valuable knowledge and experience as part of Central’s education. Following Boeyink’s lead, other alumni have stepped up to support student internship resources including 1963 Central graduate Nyla Heerema, Central 1980 and 1982 graduated Mark and Lori Kooiker Ellingson, 1986 and 1988 Central graduates Dave and Kristi Jaarsma Balk, 1987 and 1988 Central graduates Dave and Cathy Snyders Gray, 1989 Central graduates Michele and Mark Vander Linden, and 1990 Central graduates Trent and Kris Brandt Vaughn.
