The Knoxville Football Squad heads to Creston to face the other Panthers in class 3A District six. The Red and Black Panthers started the season 0-4 but have pulled off arguably the two bigger upsets of the season in district six, with wins over Harlan and last week over Atlantic. The Black and Gold Panthers will have another tough assignment to stop the powerful running game and Creston Running back Weston Trapp, who already has over 1,000 yards and is averaging over 170 per game. Add to that he can also play receiver and he leads with 164 yards on 16 receptions. Knoxville Coach Matt Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports early it was a very disorganized Creston, but the Red and Black Panthers have quickly got back on track.
Dunkin: “They started the season off 0-4 and played some really tough teams. Watching them throughout the season it just looked like they weren’t on the same page and just weren’t clicking, but they’ve got back on track and we’re going to have to go down there Friday and get after it.”
Knoxville has had trouble stopping the run this season and one thing the Black and Gold Panthers are wanting to do is to make Creston one dimensional. Live coverage is on your radio home for Knoxville Sports 95.3 KNIA starting at 6:30 with the pregame and seven for the kick off.
