The Indianola Public Safety Department held their annual Public Safety Open House on Thursday, inviting the public to meet personnel and learn about fire safety in conjunction with Fire Safety Week. The Indianola Noon Lions were on location providing hot dogs and sides for attendees, which President John Akers tells KNIA News they have been happy to do for decades.

“We’ve had a longstanding tradition of working with the Indianola Fire Department and other Public Safety Departments, and we raised funds to help the fire department purchase additional laryngoscopes which hopefully we will never need, but what a worthy cause.”

A laryngoscope is a device used in medical procedures to visualize the trachea by inserting a blade with a small light into the patient’s mouth.
