team-11

Playing shorthanded the Knoxville Football Squad never got anything going consistently and was unable to stop Creston in a 70-0 defeat on Friday heard live on 95-point-three KNIA. The Red and Black Panthers bolted out to a 28-to-nothing lead in the first quarter and cruised from there…mixing the run and pass effect and stopping Knoxville deep in its own territory. The Panthers were able to get a few drives going but stalled out inside the Creston 30 yard line. Coach Matt Dunkin told KNIA/KRLS Sports one issue for his team was the amount of penalties committed that put his team behind the sticks.

Dunkin: “We can’t have all these penalties. We can’t put ourselves behind the sticks like that and we as a staff have to figure that out and get that taken care of.”

Roston McCarty, making his first career start, passed for 180 yards and threw two interceptions. Eli Fuller caught nine passes for 125 yards. Knoxville is now 3-4 on the season and drops to 0-3 in class 3A District six. Knoxville will host Perry for Senior Night next week at Randy Wilson Track.
