The Knoxville School Board will hold a public hearing regarding the sale of Ken Locke Stadium to the Knoxville Alumni Association Monday.

The Knoxville School Board has agreed to sell the property to the alumni association’s Save Our Stadium Committee for $5,000 and the SOS committee wants to transform the property into a community space for everyone to enjoy. The purchase proposal has been officially signed by the SOS Committee. Representatives from the SOS Committee have stated at a previous school board meeting that it has been hard to fundraise for renovations without having ownership of the property.

Also at the meeting, there will be a presentation given by Boyd Jones regarding an assessment at Northstar Elementary. In new business the board will consider the Ken Locke Stadium purchase agreement, a senior activity pass proposal, a personnel committee proposal, and a quote from Pierce Fence Company. The meeting will conclude with the board reviewing comments from the Fiscal Year 24 audit, and a review of preliminary certified enrollment.

Monday’s Knoxville School Board meeting will start at 5:30 pm at the district office.
