It was a strong field of competition that the #6 in Class 4A Pella volleyball team ultimately swept at their home invitational Saturday, winning the title with a 5-0 record.

The Dutch defeated Knoxville (21-13, 21-14), #2 in 1A Holy Trinity (21-11, 21-17), Washington (22-20, 21-15), #15 in 4A Grinnell (22-20, 21-14), and #12 in 5A Valley 2-1 (14-21, 21-16, 15-13).

Katie Scheckel tallied 30 kills over the five matches, with Abbie Brand and Emma Eekhoff each adding 22 apiece.

Pella moves to 36-7 overall and will finish the regular season Tuesday with senior night festivities against Newton. The start time has been moved up to 7 p.m. due to a choir concert, with the honors for the outgoing class beginning before warmups at 6:20.
