An Urbandale Company submitted the lowest of five bids opened Monday for phase two interior work on the new clubhouse at Newton’s City Golf Course. Ball Team Incorporated had the lowest base bid at $692,000, and the lowest total package of $765,850 with two alternates. Those alternates are a built-in bar and window shades. These bids were for the remaining interior improvements including mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, finished floors, and interior walls. The plans and specifications were prepared by design and engineering firm ISG in Des Moines. Eric Pringel of ISG opened all five bids.

“I appreciate everyone’s time putting the numbers together. I will be getting with the City of Newton on making a selection based on the bids; I need to see if they are going to accept alternates one and two. The bid will be awarded at their next meeting.” 

The highest base bid was $793,000, while the highest total price was $853,500. All the bids will be considered at the next Newton City Council meeting this coming Monday, October 21st.
