An ongoing effort to renovate the Pella Community Center is continuing deep into the fall ahead of some potential decisions by the Pella City Council.

A non-profit organization has been working to secure private donations through the Heart of Pella Campaign. The Friends of the Pella Community Center have raised $1.35 million towards a high-end goal of $3 million to supplement $5.5 million in city-pledged funds that cover a wide range of needs, according to Arvin Van Zante with the group.
