The Indianola School Board met in a work session Monday evening, reviewing topics for discussion regarding an upcoming joint meeting with the Indianola City Council. Superintendent Tara Paul tells KNIA News the joint meeting is meant to foster a sense of unity between the two governing entities.

“We firmly believe that a strong school equals a strong community, and a strong community equals a strong school. We can’t have either one of those without a partnership. We just want to forge that partnership and move it forward in a very transparent way. We know there are going to be some issues that we will have to tackle together. There are some things that are just an Indianola School District issue that we want to share so there is some support and knowledge behind, but there are also things that we are going to have to partner together to move forward. And I think that just makes for a better community.”

The joint meeting will be October 28th. Hear more on today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
