The Pella Public Library will host the exhibit, “Frankenstein: Penetrating the Secrets of Nature,” through November 16th.
Created by The National Library of Medicine, the exhibit is part of an exploration/celebration of the novel “Frankenstein”. The Pella Public Library will have programming related to Frankenstein to help explore its effect on society. The first program will feature historian Kathy Wilson, who will present, We Shall Be Monsters: How Mary Shelly and Frankenstein influenced modern society, on Tuesday, October 22nd at 6:30 pm. The Brown Bag Book Club will then discuss the book, Frankenstein on Thursday, October 31st, at noon. The last program will be held on Monday, November 11th at 6:30 pm, when Central College professor Kate Nesbit will present, More than a Monster: Two Centuries of Interpreting Frankenstein. A display of Frankenstein-related materials to borrow and Frankenstein coloring pages will also be available at the library and all of the programs are free and open to all ages.
