The Knoxville Volleyball Squad navigated a loaded Panther Invitational on Saturday to go 2-3 on the day. The Panthers won their first two matches in sweeps over Albia and class 1A #2 Holy Trinity, the later being two weeks in a row. The Panthers found the afternoon session tougher, losing their three matches to class 4A #14 Ballard in two sets, losing to Union in three sets, and falling to class 3A #13 Roland-Story in three sets. This ends the regular season for Knoxville as the Panthers posted a 22-16 record. For the sixth straight season, the Panthers have won 20 matches, something that Coach Mollie Keitges is proud of.
Keitges: “With our schedule this year, that’s a big accomplishment. In our 20 wins we have some quality wins and in our losses we’ve lost to some really tough teams.”
Knoxville will return to the court in the first round of the class 4A regional hosting Oskaloosa.
