The PCM volleyball team will host Clarke tonight in the Class 3A Region 1 Quarterfinals.

The Mustangs are coming off a 3-1 loss to Greene County on Thursday and they concluded the regular season with a 15-10 overall record. PCM will now look to keep their season alive against a 9-20 Indians squad who fell to Wayne 3-1 on Thursday. The Mustangs have seen strong production this season from seniors Rebecca DeVries and Addison Steenhoek. DeVries leads the team and is fifth in the conference with 177 kills while Steenhoek leads the team and is fifth in the conference with 250 digs. Coach Sarah DeVries says that the duo has been major contributors for her team and they have set the stage for a different level of play at PCM.

“They’ve done a great job of setting the tone for our team, setting us up really well last year with a winning season, and coming into this year. I’m just really thankful for them and their leadership on the court. We’re going to miss them a ton, but they’ve really set the stage for a different level of play at PCM and I’m really thankful for that.”

Junior Tori Lindsay has also been a key contributor for the Mustangs this season along with freshman Libby Winters. Lindsay is second in the conference with 428 assists and leads the conference in serve aces with 73. Winters is fifth in the conference in blocks with 47. Tonight’s match in Monroe will start at 7:00 pm.
