The Pleasantville volleyball team knocked off conference foe ACGC on the road Tuesday night in the opening round of Class 2A Region 8 play.

Third time was the charm for a Pleasantville team that fell to the Chargers twice during the regular season. The Trojans took set one 25-18, but then fell in a lopsided second set 25-10. The Chargers then squeaked out a close third set 27-25 to go up 2-1 in the match and put Pleasantville on the ropes. The Trojans were resilient and won set four 25-21 to even the match and force a fifth set. In the fifth set, Pleasantville got the last laugh of the season knocking off ACGC with a 15-10 set five win.

Emily Roe led the team with 30 digs in the match and had an ace serve to win game five, and Miranda Benge had three aces. Senior Faith Nelson led the team on offense with 14 kills while senior London Foley had 10. Nelson also had 19 digs while Lily Mason led the team with 23 assists. Mason along with Hope DeMan also had eight kills in the match.

Pleasantville will now travel to Pella Christian on Monday for a regional semi finals match.
