The storms outside of the Pella High School gym were reflective perhaps of the speed in which the #5 in 4A Pella volleyball team earned its first postseason victory with a 3-0 sweep of Burlington (25-10, 25-20, 25-14) in the Class 4A regional semifinals Thursday evening.

Pella’s offense was sharp from the onset, as was the block attack that racked up 11 total in the effort. The Dutch continued a balanced offensive approach, led by Brooke Schulte and her 10 kills. Katie Scheckel added eight, Sydney Namminga and Emma Eekhoff each totaled seven successful attacks, and Abbie Brand combined six kills with five blocks.

The Dutch improve to 38-7 and have a rematch with #11 in 4A Norwalk with a state tournament bid on the line at Pella High School Tuesday.
