After falling one point short of the state meet last season the PCM girls cross country team qualified for the 2024 state meet as a team at the state qualifier meet in Red Oak on Thursday.

The Mustang girls put together an impressive performance two and a half hours away in Red Oak to finish second with 52 team points to punch their ticket to the state meet. After a chip on their shoulder from the state qualifier last season, five Mustang girls finished in the top 15 at the meet. Lila Milani was the top finisher for PCM finishing fifth with a time of 21:07.10. Other top finishers were Darbey DeRaad who finished eighth, Abi Teeter who finished 12th, Annie Ford who finished 13th ,and Bailey Wheeler who finished 14th. All five girls were all district. 

The boys team finished sixth overall with a team score of 153 and Coby DeRaad was the lone state qualifier for the Mustang boys as he finished 13th with a time of 18:12.72.
