A Little Hawkeye Conference showdown highlights the final pit stop on the road to the state volleyball tournament tonight as the #5 in 4A Dutch welcome #11 Norwalk to Pella High School in the regional finals.
Pella (38-7 overall, 2nd in the LHC) defeated the Warriors (28-13, 3rd in the LHC) on their home gym and senior night back on September 24th in convincing fashion via a 3-0 sweep (25-15, 25-21, 25-14), but the Dutch know more than to expect a repeat result with a state tournament bid on the line. The success for the green and white came at the service line in particular, racking up eight aces and serving 95.9% on the evening.
The Dutch will look to contain Elle’ Hatlevig, who had 11 of the 29 kills in the prior matchup and tallied 388 in 41 matches this fall — which leads Class 4A.
If the Dutch prevail, it will be their 11th state tournament appearance all-time and first since the 2018 season. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Pella High School.
