The chair of the Iowa Democratic Party Rita Hart visited the Democratic headquarters on the Knoxville square Wednesday.
Hart was visiting with volunteers in Marion County and she said that they are optimistic and noted it is important for volunteers to be able to reach voters and get them the information they need so that the candidates are representative of the State of Iowa. Hart says volunteers put in a lot of hard work during the campaign season.
“I’ve been traveling all across the state talking to our Democratic volunteers making sure they are having the support and the resources they need in order to continue everything we need to do now until November 5th to get our voters to the polls. I’m here to make sure they know they are valued and appreciated and to listen to them on what they’re hearing at the doors, and to make sure we have a great turnout on November 5th.”
Hart also mentioned to not just focus on the national ticket, but to pay attention to all of the races which are on the ballot. Hart says that the nominees who get elected locally are the ones who make the day-to-day decisions on how taxpayer money is being spent and if they are getting the services they need.
