Former Knoxville Track and Cross Country Standout Wick Cunningham was recently named the MIAA Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year leading Northwest Missouri State to its first conference title in 52 years. Cunningham took over the reins of the men’s program in Maryville, Missouri in October of 2021 after running for the Bearcats from 2013-2018, qualifying for the National Meet in 2014 and 2016. Cunningham tells KNIA/KRLS he has enjoyed his time working with the runners and seeing their success.
Cunningham: “It’s exciting to be involved with the program and coach at my alma mater. The guys are the ones putting in all that hard work and I get to watch them put in that hard work and it’s been fun.”
Cunningham will lead the Bearcats to the NCAA Division II Central Regional in Joplin. Missouri Saturday. Listen for a full interview with Cunningham on a future Today’s Lely Radio Sports Page in a Where Are They Now segment on KNIA/KRLS.
