Members of the Newton Volleyball team broke school records and earned academic honors this season. Head Coach Heidi Woollums says the three new school records were set by junior Isabelle Rawlins and senior Chloe Swank.
“Isabelle was a great server for us, serving at 98.9% this year. That was a record for season serving percentage. Senior Chloe Swank set the career dig school record with 1,086 and the digs per set record at 5.7. The serving percentage and the digs per set records had stood for 24 years.”
Academic All-State honors were earned by seniors Lola Rivera and Delaney Woollums. The entire team earned the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union’s Distinguished Academic Award, for a team grade point average higher than 3.25. Ten of the 12 varsity players also received Academic All-Conference honors.
