Marion County voters will have one contested local race in the 2024 General Election. Republicans Steve McCombs and Jim Mueller, and Democrat Kacie Nicholson are running for two open seats on the Board of Supervisors. The other race of note for local voters in Marion, Jasper, and Warren Counties is the U.S. Representative seat held by Republican Marianette Miller-Meeks, with challenger Democrat Christina Bohannan. Professor of Political Science at Central College Andrew Green is watching the impact voting registrations and turnout will have on a race that has been rated nationally as a toss-up.
