The Indianola volleyball team saw their season come to a close Tuesday at the Xtream Arena in Coralville, falling 3-1 to the Dowling Catholic Maroons heard live on 94.3 KNIA.
The Indians battled throughout the entire match, falling in the first set 25-17, then coming back with a dominant second set winning 25-17, only to fall again with the same score in the third set 25-17 to trail 2-1 heading into the fourth. The fourth was back and forth, with Indianola maintaining a slim lead throughout until the end when the Maroons went on a run to pick up the 25-23 win to advance to the semifinals.
Indianola Head Coach Kent Halstead said the team fought all the way to the end and fought a tough Dowling team with everything they had, and unfortunately came up just short.
The Indians season comes to a close, and they graduate a senior class of 11.
