Today is Election Day for the 2024 General Election.

Knoxville will have five different voting precincts open from 7:00 am – 8:00 pm today. Voting locations below.

Ward One – Marion County Extension Office

Ward Two – Knoxville Public Library

Ward Three – Community of Christ Church

Ward Four – Dyer Hudson Hall

Knoxville Township – Marion County Public Health

When Knoxville voters receive their ballot today they will make selections for President, US Representative, State Representative, County Board of Supervisors, County Auditor, County Sheriff, County Attorney to fill a vacancy, Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioner, County Agricultural Extension Council, judge retention and two constitutional amendment questions. Locally, State Representative and County Board of Supervisors will be contested races. Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia says to be patient as you are awaiting results tonight as there is a process his office needs to go through.

“Election Day is a big big day. It’s a long day. The polls don’t close until 8:00, and then there are processes that our poll workers go through at the sites to close down, secure, and do all of these things. Results then have to be couriered back to the court house. It takes time. It takes a while to drive from Pleasantville, Bussey, Melcher, and Pella. It takes time. If we could have results out between 10-10:30 that is really good to me.”

If you have not registered to vote you can do so the same day in the State of Iowa. You just need to provide an ID and if you have moved you will need to show proof of residence. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS tonight for election results.
