An 11th place finish on Friday propelled Knoxville Runner Isaac Rankin to an all-state performance at the class 3A State Cross Country Meet. Rankin capped off his season after winning five times, including the first four meets of the season. Rankin told KNIA/KRLS Sports the State Meet was a great experience especially being forced to run with other competitors and how he gained knowledge from fellow runners in the offseason.
Rankin: “Running alone is tougher than running with a few guys so running with a pack helps. Learning from those guys helps, you can gain knowledge from them and run with them and it helps a bunch.”
Rankin will return for his senior season next year with goals of doing even better at the State Meet.
