The Hormel Foods production facility in Knoxville has announced donations to two local organizations combating food insecurity in Iowa.
The Knoxville facility sent $5,000 to Helping Hands Food Pantry, and $5,000 to the Marion County Meals on Wheels program, as part of a companywide effort by Hormel Foods to bolster the food security of its local communities.
“We are proud to work with our trusted local partners to continue their tremendous efforts in helping address the needs of people in our own backyard,” said Pat Kranz, Knoxville plant manager. “Hormel Foods is a global branded food company committed to feeding the world, and our team will continue to play its part by supporting hunger-relief organizations that are making a difference in the communities where we live and work.”
By way of its production facilities, Hormel Foods donated $360,000 to 45 local hunger-relief organizations this past September. Food security engagements throughout Hunger Action Month contribute to the company’s 20 By 30 Challenge goals of delivering 70 million meals and creating a food-secure community program by 2030.
