Homemade quilts and gift baskets will be auctioned off by the Salvation Army of Newton Friday evening. Proceeds from the auction go to the Salvation Army of Newton, to help fund the organization’s many programs and services. There are both live and silent auctions for the quilts and gift baskets. Admission for the event at the Newton DMACC campus is free. A preview of the auction items will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday, with the auction scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. Hear more about the annual quilt and gift basket auction from Salvation Army of Newton Captain Tim North on today’s Let’s Talk Newton.
