Norwalk sophomore Mallory Betts and freshman Eva Smith will compete for Des Moines Lincoln in Saturday’s Regional Swimming competition at Summit Middle School in Johnston. The eight-team meet will begin at noon.
According to season results on gobound.com, Betts ranks in the Rails’ top three in five total events. She has clocked the team’s second-fastest times in both the 50-yard freestyle (28.55) and the 100 butterfly (1:08.93). She ranks third in the 100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and the 200 IM. Smith ranks third on the team in the 200 freestyle (2:15.49) and the 500 freestyle (6:03.08).
The Girls State Swimming and Diving Meet will be held November 15-16 in Marshalltown.
