A Flag raising ceremony was held Thursday morning at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville in honor of Veterans Day.
Veterans, family members, and volunteers from the community came out to put up flags that line the path at the cemetery ahead of Veterans Day on Monday. After the flags were put up, a ceremony was held to honor those who served and Marion County Director of Veteran Affairs Rob Bandstra spoke about the importance of the week leading up to Veterans Day. The ceremony ended with a three volley salute and the playing of Taps. The flags will be taken down at 3:00 pm on Tuesday and there will be a veterans breakfast at the Knoxville Armory on Monday morning from 6:00-11:00.
