Drama students at Newton High School will perform the play “The Little Town of Christmas” at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 15th and Saturday, November 16th. Newton High School and Middle School Drama Coach Melinda Robertson says the play, written by Pat Cook, is a two act, twelve scene show with an intermission.
“The show is a comedy. It encompasses many of the Christmas traditions that go on. Like “The Night Before Christmas”, the twist is they think Santa is a UFO. We have Scrooge in “The Christmas Carol” with a totally wacky twist to it.”
Robertson says practice for the play began in September and that 42 Newton High School Drama students are involved, with 28 set to perform on stage. Admission to the play at the High School Auditorium is $6.00, with refreshments at intermission.
