The Mustangs then added to their lead after a pick six by Robbins and a rushing touchdown by Burns. The PCM defense was dominant all game pitching their second shutout by the season. Coach Greg Bonnett said it showed how much his team wanted to win this game.
“In order to do what we wanted to do we had to be able to have a dominant performance in this game, I really believe that. I think our guys really bought into that and I think they took it one play at a time. That was a good team we were playing out there. Those guys were big dudes, they were strong dudes, and they had a good scheme and things like that. In the end, we really really really wanted it, and it showed tonight.”
The Mustangs move to 11-0 on the season will play Spirit Lake at 10:00 am next Saturday at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls in the Class 2A semifinals.
