The National Weather Service is simplifying their cold weather forecast products to improve messaging of winter hazards. Warning Coordination Meteorologist Chad Hahn says they are now issuing extreme cold watches and warnings, as well as a cold weather advisory. The move eliminates the term “Wind Chill” from those hazard products, according to Hahn, to convey that subzero temperatures are dangerous with or without wind.
