The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting and open house on Saturday for Knox and the Hound.

The new business in Knoxville opened their doors on Monday. The facility is located at 202 N 3rd St. and offers doggy day care, several boarding options, training, and a self-service bath. There will also be a mobile grooming unit at the site on certain days. A good turnout of people showed up on Saturday, some with their dogs, to tour the new facility, check out the options available for their dogs, eat lunch, and celebrate the new business. Mel and Chris Smith are the owners of the new business and have been involved in dog rescue for over a decade, and they saw a need for a facility like this in Knoxville. Chris is also a professional dog trainer, and will offer several different training options. Mel says she is excited to be a part of the growth in Knoxville.

“We’re just really excited to be in the Knoxville community. I grew up here so obviously I’m really passionate about Knoxville and I love the fact that we are working so hard to bring the city back and everything. I know the Chamber of Commerce is really passionate, and there are a lot of passionate people looking to grow the city again so we are excited to be a part of that.”
