The Indianola School Board held their annual organizational meeting Monday evening, selecting a board president, vice president, and other committee assignments. Superintendent Tara Paul tells KNIA News the various committee assignments are a crucial part of the board staying informed in a less formal setting, and those individual board members can then take the information to the full board to be voted on.
“We use the committees to give information and gain information, or gain questions from the board. So we have several committees that our board invests monthly time into outside of the boardroom to gather the information to make sure we are all on the same page in terms of what information the board needs at the table to make a knowledgeable decision on how to move forward.”
