Fourteen student-athletes from Norwalk Community High School signed national letters of intent on Wednesday’s opening of the early signing period for collegiate athletics.
The list of Warrior signings includes five at the NCAA Division I level. Track and cross country standout Tony Anania will compete in both sports at the University of Kentucky. Carly Brewer will play softball at the University of Iowa and Maddie Gullion has signed to play softball at the University of Northern Iowa. Braelyn Clark will play soccer at the University of Illinois-Chicago and Elivia Papcun will compete in Equestrian at Texas Christian University.
Norwalk’s NCAA Division II signees include Nyah Hulbert to Minnesota State for softball and Bailey Birmingham to Northwest Missouri State University for basketball.
Dakota Poen and Emmory Toppenberg will both continue their volleyball careers at Wartburg College in Waverly, Ellie Dueland will play soccer at Luther College in Decorah, and Sydney Goheen will play softball at Central College in Pella.
Grady Sigrist signed with DMACC in Des Moines to play golf, Briley Purcell will play baseball at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, and Cole Wardlow will play baseball at Grand View University in Des Moines.
The early signing period for football begins on December 4.
