Bruxvoort’s Home Center in Pella partnered with local elementary schools to create snowflakes that will be on display at their store during the Holiday Season.
Bruxvoort’s began the project last year, and had approximately fifty snowflakes that were created and hung up throughout the store. In addition to having their snowflakes put on display, kids are able to come find their creation and take home a Christmas ornament. Todd Cummings, who has helped organize the project with local elementary schools, says that they have spent around 7-8 hours hanging snowflakes throughout the store, with more still to be put up. Todd adds that they have enjoyed seeing the reaction to the project from the community.
“The kids have loved it. Even kids that didn’t do it, they just see the snowflakes and they know that Christmas is coming. Parents like it too. They like to come in and help their kids find their snowflakes. We had a mother and daughter that came in last night looking for theirs, and we’re not quite done hanging them yet, but they’re excited to come see them. It’s great for us, but it’s just for the kids.”
Todd says that Bruxvoort’s goal is to have all of the snowflakes hung up in time for the Tour of Stores on Monday, November 25th.
