An open house was held Thursday for the new Pierschbacher Funeral Home facility in Knoxville.
The open house was a construction kick off meet and greet where the community could come out to the new location at the site of the former Knoxville Administration Building and tour the facility, eat lunch, and visit with staff. Pierschbacher purchased Knoxville’s Williams Funeral Home in October of 2023 and the Winfield Funeral Home in March of 2023, and plan to merge the two businesses into one in the former Knoxville Schools Administration building.
Upon completion, the 16,000 square-foot facility will serve as a funeral home, and have enough space to hold larger funerals, memorials, celebrations of life, and events. The new facility will have a large chapel and reception area, celebration place or meeting room for events, a kitchen, and offices. Owner John Pierschbacher says he wanted to give the community a before look of the new facility.
“It’s exciting to get started finally. It’s been about a year and a half since we bought this and tried to get everything pictured. Now we’re moving and I wanted people to be able to see it before and after so that’s what today’s about, to be able to see the beginning stages so that in January when it’s done they can see the end product.”
Construction of the new Pierschbacher facility is expected to be done this winter.
