A Newton man who pleaded guilty to making almost $3,500 of unauthorized credit and debit card transactions has been given a suspended five year prison sentence. District Court Judge Steven Holwerda also placed 46-year- old Brandon Dean Lint on probation for two years, suspended a $1,025 fine, and ordered Lint to undergo substance abuse and psychological evaluations and treatment. Newton Police said Lint admitted making 59 unauthorized transactions on another Newton man’s bank account. The criminal complaint stated the transactions occurred between August 21st and November 28th of last year, and totaled $3,494.70. Lint pleaded guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card, a Class D felony.
