The Simpson football team took down Luther to end their season with a .500 record for the first time since 2019 at Buxton Stadium Saturday 29-15 as heard live on 94.3 KNIA.
The Norse took an early lead with a first quarter touchdown, and the Storm wouldn’t answer until quarterback J Jensen found Noah Cracraft on a 44-yard strike to tie the score at 7 at halftime. Simpson scored again on another Jensen to Cracraft connection from six yards out in the third quarter to take a lead 14-7, then yet another Jensen to Cracraft touchdown throw to lead 21-7 early in the fourth quarter.
The Norse would score a touchdown and convert a fake field goal to get the game within six points at 21-15, but the Storm would go on a 10-play 79-yard drive down the field to seal the contest with the starting senior center Joe Bream rushing the ball in from five yards out into the endzone.
Head coach Reed Hoskins said after the game he could not be more proud of this senior class who endured so much during their time at Simpson, and they finished their careers on a massive high note and set a premium example of what it means to play football for Simpson.
With the first touchdown, Jensen became the all-time passing touchdowns leader in Simpson College history, ending his career with 80. Simpson went 5-5 on the season, going undefeated at home.
