Mahaska/Marion Women, Land, & Legacy invites farm families and community members to an evening focused on managing stress, building resilience, and supporting mental health in early December.
The free event will feature Iowa State University Behavioral Health Specialist David Brown, who will share insights on maintaining mental well-being in the face of the unique challenges farm families often encounter. The evening will include a soup supper, presentation, group discussion, and opportunities to win door prizes. Participants will also be able to learn about self-care strategies, the importance of community support, and the mental health resources available to farm families.
The Farming State of Mind evening hosted by the Mahaska/Marion Women, Land, & Legacy will be held at ISU Extension Office in Oskaloosa at 6 pm on Thursday, December 5th. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by December 2nd for meal planning purposes. To RSVP, please contact Nichole Baxter at (641) 531-7090 or via email at nichole.baxter@usda.gov.
