A pair of athletes from Pella High School are the among the first of the Class of 2025 to sign to compete in college. At recent ceremonies on Wednesday, seniors Katie Meyer and Isaiah Kettler made their decisions to compete at the next level official.
Meyer is an equestrian competitor who has traveled the country with her own horses, and will next compete at the University of Tennessee-Martin this coming fall. The sport has few competitive programs at the collegiate level, making the spots rather competitive to obtain.

Kettler has signed to compete with the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville baseball team. Isaiah is coming off of a remarkable junior season, in which he led the Dutch to the state baseball tournament and earned the school’s first Elite All-State honors since current professional player Grant Judkins. Kettler ranked in the top 20 in the entire state in doubles, total bases, and slugging percentage.
