Despite a loss Saturday in the state semifinals it was a season to remember for the PCM football team.
The Mustangs finished the regular season with an 8-0 record and won their first three playoff games to go into the UNI-Dome with a perfect 11-0 record. PCM didn’t finish the season being able to hoist a state championship trophy after falling two wins short, but it was certainly a season the players, coaches and fans should be proud of. Before losing to Spirit Lake on Saturday the Mustangs had outscored their opponents 530-82 and were dominant on both sides of the ball all season. Many seniors including star quarterback Gavin Van Gorp and running back Adrien Robbins will leave a strong legacy on the program.
Head Coach Greg Bonnett has had the Mustangs in the playoffs all 14 years he has been at the helm and will look to get PCM back there again next season.
