A successful volleyball season on Eagle Lane was recognized yet again on Monday, as Pella Christian claimed a total of five postseason accolades from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.
Senior Chloe Huisman capped off her career as an Eagle with a pair of honors from the IGCA, claiming Class 2A Central All-District honors and Class 2A Third-Team All-State Honors. Over four seasons at Pella Christian, Huisman started all 153 matches in her career and recorded 2,759 assists, 900 digs, 362 kills, 209 aces, and 88 blocks. Senior Addison Bandstra, who was named the Tulip Queen on Saturday, added to her accomplishments this week by being named to the All-District team. A three-year member of the Eagles’ varsity squad, Bandstra started in 113 matches and played in 114, while recording 494 kills and 166 blocks as a middle hitter. Senior Faith Kacmarynski was also an All-District selection for Pella Christian, after surpassing the 1,000 career dig mark against Pleasantville in the Class 2A Region 8 semifinals on October 28th. In her four varsity seasons, Kacmarynski recorded 1,037 digs, 214 assists, and 126 aces in 99 career starts and 143 matches played as a defensive specialist and libero.
Also earning postseason honors, Andrea Kacmarynski was named the Class 2A Central District Coach of the Year. In her first season guiding the Eagles’ program, Kacmarynski led Pella Christian to a 24-12 record and a spot in the Class 2A Region 8 Championship match.
