It’s the Season of Gratitude at Central College, a program that extends to students and faculty and challenges campus to give to others locally and beyond.
As part of the initiative, Central is once again holding their annual food drive, with boxes available on campus for non-perishable food donations. On Friday, the KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will visit the Maytag Student Center and collect the donations. Mary Benedict with Central College says the food drive is a great way to support the Pella community and encourages anyone that can to participate in the food drive.
“For us to be able to help out community members who need food, it just makes it more meaningful for us. And one of the nice things is, hopefully Pella residents know, that they are welcome to join our food drive. I’ve got a box in the Maytag Student Center, which is very easily accessible by anybody. It’s right by the fireplace, or we’ll have the Lil’ Big Red Radio parked where people can see it and they can drop food off, but we try to work as much as possible with Pella, because we do support each other.”
