Jasper County Engineer Michael Frietsch shows supervisors the updated designs of the Liberty Avenue Yard during a past work session.
The Jasper County Supervisors have approved the final plans for replacement of the Highway F-17 bridge over Rock Creek. Jasper County Engineer Mike Frietsch says bid letting is scheduled for February for this Iowa Department of Transportation Farm to Market project in the northeast corner of the county.
“We are looking at replacing that bridge with a 201 foot 4 inch pre-tension pre-stressed concrete beam bridge 30 foot 6 inches wide.”
According to Frietsch, this will be one of three new bridges outside contractors will be building in Jasper County next construction season. The County Engineers Office will be constructing several other bridges in-house.
Jasper County has also announced construction of the new bridge over the North Skunk River on Highway S-62 North has been completed and the road has reopened.
