A new Assistant Jasper County Medical Examiner has been appointed by the Jasper County Board of Supervisors. Jasper County Sheriff John Halferty recommended Dr. Duane Jolivette on behalf of Jasper County Medical Examiner Patrick Edwards.
“Doctor Sarah Florence had been appointed and she was fantastic to work with. But she is leaving the area. Dr. Edwards obviously needs an assistant. He has recommended Dr. Duane Jolivette. I think that is a great choice as well.”
Sheriff Halferty says each time the Sheriff’s Department has a death investigation, they have to contact the County Medical Examiner or an Assistant County Medical Examiner. He added that typically happens 60 to 80 times per year.
